About FishVitality

Welcome — I’m Glad You’re Here

My name is Fish, and I created FishVitality to document my journey toward staying strong, active, and healthy as I approach my 60s—and to help others do the same.

I’m a 59-year-old husband, empty nester, and everyday guy who wants to feel great, move well, and enjoy life long into retirement. I’m not an elite athlete or a fitness expert. I’m just someone who works hard to stay consistent, learns from setbacks, and believes deeply in the value of staying active as we age.

What You’ll Find Here

FishVitality is a practical, realistic blog about:

  • Fitness and strength training after 55

  • Home workout equipment that actually helps

  • Healthy eating habits

  • Mobility and flexibility as we age

  • Staying motivated through life’s ups and downs

  • Preparing physically for an active retirement

  • Real-life stories from my own journey

If you’re looking for perfect routines, strict diets, or intense workouts… this isn’t that place. But if you want encouragement, practical tips, honesty, and a realistic approach to feeling great as the years roll on—you’re in the right spot.

My Philosophy

I believe:

  • It’s never too late to get stronger.

  • Small, consistent habits matter more than perfection.

  • We can offset the natural decline of aging through daily movement.

  • Living well means balancing health with enjoyment.

  • The goal isn’t just a longer life—it’s a better one.

The idea that inspired this blog came from the concept in Younger Next Year: aging is like a tide always going out, but we can build our bodies every day to keep that tide at bay.

That message stuck with me—and continues to guide my approach to health.

Why the Name “FishVitality”?

FishVitality represents the idea of staying nimble, active, and always moving forward, no matter your age. Fish don’t stop swimming—and neither should we.
